Thanks, jinkodesigns for you input. The designs are a bit too child-like for our target. A bit edgier and hip would be better.

Question to CH: Is the primary goal to train people for mountain climbing or just to have fun/exercise on indoor walls? thx (are mountains misleading or on spot?)

Although we teach people indoors, many of our customers climb outdoors as well, some even in the mountains. That said, we are a serious place to learn, train, and work out and not an amusement. Don't get me wrong, climbing is fun and that's the message we want to convey. That you can get your fitness workout by having fun too.

We're thinking a combination of the fonts used in entry 183056 and the artwork in entry 180720 would work best for us.

Ok, but I don't think one can take the others idea just like that and implement it in the new logo.

Not asking you to simply copy another's art but rather to apply these ideas to your design.

Can't do that...sorry

If a designer submits a concept that you like, you should ask him/her to make changes to their concept. Not ask everyone to apply another designers idea to their design. :) We figure out which direction to go by reading the comments you leave other designers and seeing the rating on their designs. In no way can we use another designers concept as our own. I understand what you're trying to say though...that's the direction you want us to go in. :) I hope you understand why we can't copy other concepts. (I'm sure someone will smell $$$ and do it though lol)

Sorry for the confusion. I should have been more precise about what we were asking. Of course we know that you simply cannot copy another's design. What we were trying to say is that we like the concepts so that all of you might better see the direction we're going here. We greatly appreciate all the efforts expended in this process and apologize for any misunderstandings caused by our earlier message.

I guess I should have kept quiet...looks like my ratings are reaping the consequences lol ;)

I think its alright to use similar fonts from other logo but its really uncool to make similar artwork or copy the concept of an artwork.

I appreciate Jsummit who respected me as his fellow designer. Thanks to JINKODESIGNS, for not keeping quiet. Best of luck to us all.

I really don't think that my last entry is a copy of your design. I have a different "climber" shape, a different shape of that rounded thing behind the climber and different color. The CH said he wanted us to go in that direction, so I tried to make as different as possible. If you are referring at the concept, well look at the "mountain shape" a few designers made. I don't know if that can be considered a copy. Or look at midas's last climber shape. It's 90% similar to mine. I'm sorry you feel offended. If CH or other designers think my last entry is a copy of yours, I'm willing to withdraw it.

And another thing. It's not just about the similarity of fonts. Nobody can claim exclusivity for a font, but it's not just about the font. It's about how you use it, how you put the message using that font. And I don't think a logo is more important than the text. You cannot create a great logo and just put some text there. They go together and they are equal as importance because they are complementary and create the complete identity. I also may have a suggestion, if it's ok with you and CH. We can work together and combine the two designs to create something better. After all, it's the clients interest that matters.
