Although we did not state this in the original instructions, we've learned that printing costs increase significantly with more than two colors.

Hello carolt810, Having been in the design and printing business for over 20 years, I can tell you that printing costs being more expensive with more colors is not necessarily true (anymore). The cost depends more on how "custom" is the job you need in terms of paper stock and whether you need spot color or you print in 4-color process. Today, it costs more to run a 1 or 2-color card than to run full-color cards as a gang run. Additionally the choices of paper available for gang runs have increased and at about 1/4 the cost of a custom 1 or 2-color job, I'd say full-color printing outsells the 1 and 2-color printing at about 100 to 1. Of course, if the print job is designed as a spot color rather than CMYK (4-color process) you can either convert the colors to CMYK or you will have to go with a "custom" print job. (example: 500 cards in full color are about $35-$60 | 500 1 or 2-color cards will run you about $80 - $180). Good luck.
