Describe your company and organization and target audience

NewPaper is an Amsterdam based startup. We advise media organizations on new ways of online storytelling, focusing on journalism. We create 'rich journalism,' online stories that are interactive and where audio, video, text, photo's, infographics and interactive elements come together. See 'Firestorm' by The Guardian or Snowfall by The New York Times for examples of this kind of stories. Besides this, we also develop software to create these stories. We combine journalism, design and web techniques (the company is owned by two journalists and a web engineer). We employ young, talented people at the start of their careers. Our place in the media world: young, innovative company that advises more traditional media on something they have difficulty with to grasp: innovation, new techniques and new ways of storytelling.

The design should have the following

We are looking for an icon with text, with the emphasis on the icon. The icon should be able to be used separately as well. We are also open to icon and text combined. The logo should communicate something along the lines of innovation, media, modern, simple, talent, youthful energy, not traditional, technologically advanced, journalism, (web) techniques, internationally oriented. We have a few potential icons in mind, but please do not limit yourself to these ideas: a boomerang, a globe, a world map, a rocket, a modern version of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian man. The logo should be clean, simple, not too frilly or complicated. Please keep in mind that the logo will potentially be used as a logo in video's. We prefer the logo to be blue with white, but are open to any combination with blue in it.

This logo will be used for

• Television/screen
