Method + Madness Salon
Describe your company and organization and target audience
We are closing our existing salon for a month to remodel. When we reopen, we will be rebranding the salon with the name Method + Madness. In attached pictures, I am including a few ideas of what the new interior will look like. We think beauty is the intersection of art and science. We like to say practice the methods and nurture the madness.
This is a high end, multi-location Salon, with a flagship store based Downtown Seattle.
We provide Hair & Nails services on both Men & Women Clients
Our ideal client is what we call a "polished professional"
The salon has a clean look: white, black and grey or silver instead of grey when possible.
The design should have the following
Distinct "M" Theme
It's important to have an icon logo, separate from the spelled out name. The icon could be an M
I like the "+" rather than an ampersand, but I am open to seeing options in both.
Flexibility: Needs to be able to be used lengthwise, or stacked. The icon logo should be composed of the parts of the full logo, but able to stand alone.
Should be appealing in black and white, greyscale, or with pops of color. Ideally, I'd like to use silver, foil or metallic lettering for signage.
I like contrast (Black vs white, method vs madness, art & science, etc)
I'm drawn to art deco fonts and style for the straight lines paired with elegant themes.
I think the science-art combo is beautifully demonstrated in Vetruvian style images, but I have no idea how to incorporate that myself. I'm attaching examples.
This logo will be used for
- Online (Website, facebook etc.)
- Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)
- Merchandise (mugs, t-shirts etc.)
- Signs (including shops, billboards etc.)
This design should not have this in the entries
Cliche salon themed images like scissors, nail polish, etc.
Pink
Text only, that I could have just written out in a fancy font in Word.
Silver rather than gold. (I mention this because I know art deco tends toward the gold.)
Colors to use in the design
white, black, grey, mainly. Accents using pops of rich jewel tones. Royal purples and teals.
