The name Mark 1:17 comes from Bible Scripture - "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." The company will begin by primary selling fly fishing oriented decorated apparel such as T-shirts, fishing shirts, hats, etc. to the fly fishing community and/or Christian community.

The design should have the following

- The logo will be used as a color design used for business cards and website. etc., but also as a consistent labeling on all apparel in the same way as the popular brands "Under Armour" or "Nike". Thus a color logo that can be either fully "blacked out" as a silhouette or a recognizable portion would be preferred. - The logo can incorporate all the letters of Mark 1:17 or just a portion i.e, M117 or similar. Caps, lowercase, color, font, is up to the designer. - The logo may portray some of the following concepts as applied to fly fishing: Active, serious, excellence, exclusive, high quality, intense. Possibilities include but are not limited to: a fly fisherman fully extended into double haul cast, a fly rod flexing-bending, fly line stretched out as cast, a fly reel spinning and throwing beads of water out, etc - The logo can portray Christian concepts. Possibilities include but are not limited to: use of the Christian fish incorporated into logo, the Mark 117 letters used in a Biblical type font, other Bible - Christian theme. Obviously we can't have anything that conflicts with Christian ideals. The logo should not illustrate a "passive, prop-your-feet-up and wait" type of fishing. The brand appeals to the active, serious fly fisherman.
