I met with the owner of the pub today. Here is some of his feedback. 1) He wants a silver anchor like in the picture I posted in the description. http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/042/Purple/95/99/5e/mzl.hoshshnw.100x100-75.jpg (Imagine what Apple would make the Anchor look like if it was their product.) 2) Less gradients, since they will be hard to print. 3) He is leaning towards a solid blue background. (Open to different shades of blue) 4) He wants it to be bordered by a shape, rather than floating. (ie: circle, oval, square with rounded corners, shield, etc.) 5) Be sure the words "The Anchor Pub" are on the top and "Anchorage, AK" is on the bottom. 6) Simple is better. Remove the ropes, etc.

Dear Contest holder. Recently it appears a few designers in this competition feel it necessary to sabotage my entries into this design and I have been forced to withdraw a few of my designs. I may end up withdrawing all of my entries in order that these people stop attacking my work. I would just like to let you know that all my designs are still available and if you feel that any of my anchors are too close to the apple version then I would be happy to manipulate them to your liking. I would like you to know that all my designs are original; however, I did use the apple log for inspiration.

What a shame the winning entry is an almost perfect match of the example anchor (the only real difference being the cross bar part) -- I hope you don't get sued by Apple.

bassborg, thanks for your designs. They are good. However there can only be one winner. The sarcastic comments aren't necessary and they certainly aren't very professional.

It wasn't meant to be sarcastic. There were quite a few designs submitted that directly copied the Apple iphone logo - or, as in this case - modified it only slightly. That is not really fair to those of us who created truly original designs, is it?

Yes really, the winning entry is an exact copy of the apple icon which is given as an example. I think is not fair toward the other designers working hard on this contest with original designs, especially when the CH requested to be original artwork.
