It should be easily recognizable, versatile and memorable. The concept and shape are initially more important than the colors. The logo also does not need to say exactly what the company does. Just because it’s relevant, doesn’t mean you can’t do better. The Mercedes logo isn’t a car. The Virgin Atlantic logo isn’t an airplane. The Apple logo isn’t a computer. Etc. The color palette is wide open and up to your creativity. Have fun! We are also really looking for some typography type work here and, as previously posted, a good iconic illustration that fits the name. So far we're are mostly seeing stock standard fonts with graphics clips. We really do not like logo's with common Ariel or Helvetica type fonts. It's all to common lately. The winner of this contest will go the extra mile in creating a unique element.
