The Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles (GPALA) seeks to advance training, research, education, consultation in group psychotherapy. We believe strongly in the efficacy and viability of group therapy as a primary modality of psychological treatment and emotional support.GPALA is committed to serving our membership and the community of mental health professionals by providing:
An inter-disciplinary forum for professionals involved in the use of group psychotherapy for the enhancement of mental health.
Educational programs on a regular basis for our membership and other group mental health practitioners
Opportunities for professional development
Training and additional learning opportunities in group psychotherapy for newly credentialed professionals and students
A professional community for group therapists that will assist members in forming professional and social alliances
