Describe your company and organization and target audience

Several years ago I made an investment that worked out very well - much of it was luck: I was in the right place at the right time. Today I am a private angel investor; looking for unique opportunities where I can either invest capital or serve as an advisor and/or mentor.

It's just me - I don't have any employees. Privacy, discretion, and a very low profile are critically important to me. For example, I don't have any social media presence and I don't want people to be able to find me online.

The design should have the following

I want to have a very cool, unique business card designed. I want the business card to convey, simplicity, minimalism, discretion, and stealth. At the same time, I want it to covey luxury, privacy, and selectivity. Something else that I want to communicate, via my card, is that I have no connection to any industry, geography, or affiliations. There are no connections, limitations or restrictions communicated by my card.

The message that my card should convey is that am sharing with you - and only you - my private contact information. You can not infer anything (about me, what I do, my interests, hobbies, affiliations, etc.,) based on the card. At the same time, the design and layout of my card is very interesting and noticeable. In a way, the absence of additional information is intriguing and grabs their attention. Another way of saying this is that the silence is deafening or the absence of light, color and design are blinding. This task is to create an interesting and provocative dichotomy: the card conveys the aforementioned qualities and attributes by the absence of anything concrete or obvious.

The card will only contain the least amount of information possible to be useful: name, phone number, and email. I am not opposed to a logo, image or icons; however, it would have to reinforce what I stated above. I think that is where the challenge of this design request lies. How do you use the absence of information to grab someone's attention?

Some things I have seen that I like are embossing and/or debossing. I am a fan of interesting and original negative space designs. Think outside the box: you can use both sides of the card, Is there a way to fold the card to have some of the information on the edge of the card? Or print it in such a way that, while the card is flat, it appears to have a thick edge and some of the information is on what appears to be the edge of the card? I am open to a unique shape, size or card design. Could you useDie / Laser cutting to create interest via negative space to convey my message, qualities, and characteristics above?

The truth is I have no creative ability to design or create, however, I do know when I see something that I really like. I love simplicity, minimalism, interesting, innovativeness and subtleness.

There is a possibility I would use the same or similar image from my card, as a website landing page, as I own the domain name fjharmon.com. However, at this time, I prefer to maximize my anonymity, so having a website landing page might be antithetical to what I am trying to communicate overall.

This logo will be used for

  • Online (Website, facebook etc.)
  • Print (business cards, letterheads, brochures etc.)

This design should not have this in the entries

No image or logo that is clearly identifiable or associated with a company, industry, geography, trade or noun. No information other than my name, phone number, and email address.

What style of logo would you like?

Colors to use in the design

As little as possible: Tone on tone, Varnish / Spot UV, Die / Laser Cutting, Matt / Shine, negative space.
