Describe your company and organization and target audience

About the Law Firm:
Evans Law LLP is a full-service corporate and securities law firm focused on serving the needs of the financial services industry. The firm’s practice areas include: (i) Arbitration and Litigation (and mediation), (ii) expert witness services, (iii) securities offerings (exempt, registered and state), (iv) broker-dealer advisory services, (v) investment adviser services, (vi) federal, state and regulatory securities investigations and enforcement representation and (vii) corporate law (business/corporate formation and governance, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital).

Target Audience:
Potential clients (including individuals and corporations); peers in the profession; our professional and personal contacts; our adversaries; the legal community at large, including legal publishers.

The design should have the following

Thoughts on Logo:
Simple colors (3-5 colors that are complimentary), including green (dark, such as Kelly or forest green), blue (dark, such as royal blue) and black, that is hopefully memorable (creative) while still conveying a classic, trustworthy and professional message. However, the logo should look good in black and white as well. One idea is for the logo part to focus on the “E” for Evans. Due to its audience (law firm clients), it cannot be too edgy or whimsical in style and needs to work on a variety of media (website, email, business cards, letterhead, color marketing piece, and other forms of media marketing).

Font should be easy to read for the law firm name, capable of being used in Office documents (including if downloaded) and displayed on webpages, and should convey a sense of strength (such as all or small caps), but could be elegant, classic and almost calligraphic font, but not too casual or too fancy either (it should convey a classic, trustworthy, professional feeling). However, the font should not be a commonly used font (i.e., not Arial, Helvetica, Calibri or Times New Roman).

Additional:
Depending on the type of logo, we will need up to 3 variations of the logo for final usage: (1) one with just design element, such as a design based on the letter “E”, (2) one with the design element and the name of the firm “Evans Law” or “Evans Law LLP” and (3) one without the design element, with only “Evans Law” or “Evans Law LLP”
Upon completion, final logo(s) should be delivered as high resolution jpg and png along with delivery of original illustrator/photoshop/etc. source files as well as the font file.
Payment constitutes transfer of ownership of the intellectual property and you should not post the logo as sample on websites.

Examples of other current law firm logos appreciated are included on the attached document.
