looking the entries and ranking then it seems that logo must be 1. 3D looking 2. With metal gradient thats the style you want?

$600 for the letter 'C'

i think CH wants little bit more than just a C. if it is just the C case then CH would have done it itself. Its too early to say what he likes. Now its the C but whatkind of C thats all open

Thanks for telling me what you think the CH wants. I was making a joke. 'J' for joke. With a gradient.

CH, it seems you didn't want gradients as it was difficult to embroider on apparel...can you say if you want gradients or not??
user-image
magpie Creative
It seems like the design you are leaning towards have steel gradients...yet this would be impossible, I would think, to put on apparel.

gradients can be used on web logo, but logo must look good without gradients too. Simple C 2 d or 3d is something that CH would have done itself. I just think he wants something more. i dont mean it must be difficult . just my thoughts

you can add special effects every time you want. if concept is good and CH likes it you can give him different versions

seems magpie is right. CH is rich. he pays $600 just for big C lol

I want to thank everyone who has submitted an entry, most of the logos are awesome, and it is very difficult to choose just one. I will definitely use your services again and have referred other colleagues to this site. Sorry I have not been able to provide individual feedback on all the logos. I am a busy small business owner running a construction company. I was on a job site today and will be again Tuesday for most of the day. I do value every ones time and hard work and truly appreciate all the entries. This logo is very important to me and everyone’s design will get my full consideration. I have not made any decisions and am still very open to anything you can throw at me. I continue to see some really cool ideas, things I would not have thought of, or thought I would like. So put it out there! I noticed a couple of designs that I liked but didn’t have time to comment on or give a rating where taken off? The designs that I rate a “1” are ones I’m quite sure don’t work for me. Everything else is still being considered. Like I said before there are so many cool designs and every time I come back to the page I see a couple that are growing on me or trigger a variation I might be interested in. If I haven’t left a comment or given you a “1” rating I am still looking at it, give me some time. There have been some questions regarding 3D and gradient fills. When I said that I don’t want gradient fills I was referring more to colors like the blue and black gradient fill in our current logo. Not the use of gradients to look like steel. We are a steel company and I like the thought and look of steel in the logo. Please keep in mind how the design will work on my business card and job sign. How will your design look in print? The website is a little different, you can’t touch the steel, it’s an image of steel and if a gradient fill is the best way to reproduce that I’m fine with that. I just want to try to stay consistent. . I spoke to my printer today and had him view the Hatchwise site and designs. We discussed that my logo be as consistent as possible in all forms of media, so that my letterhead matches the trucks, t-shirts, hats, job signs and the sign on my door. My printer does vinyl cutting & printing, and embroidering in-house. His comments are that you can use gradient fills to get a cool looking steel 3D C that will work great on the website, but does not know if I will be happy with its look in vinyl, or stitched. This is important to me, although once we have a design, if we can produce it in print, perhaps a foil chrome C and use foil vinyl for the design. If anyone has done some work in foils or has ideas of a steel theme or look I would appreciate your feedback, you have more experience than me. One of our challenges with our current logo is the gradient fill and the inability to reproduce it stitched and in vinyl. He is going to work on a sample chrome vinyl 3D C, I don’t know how quickly this can be done. My plan was not to limit any creative ideas by telling you what colors or fills to use. Other then to say yellow, orange, pink and lime green are probably not going to be our new company colors. (Although there are a lot of heavy equipment that is yellow and orange, in fact I guess we own some) I have been looking at most of the entries as black and white not really considering the colors quite yet. I thought that once we have a look I really like we can make the colors work or make it look like a steel or not. Please consider your design or even submit versions that will work with print and stitch variations. Again I thank everyone for the hard work and effort. Del Carbon Steel Buildings

colors can be change at any time. if you like the overal look. about stitching there are metaalic looking sewing threads that might work. but yes logo must look good in every way, even in black and white version. usually logo buyers forget that. they see vool effect logos, but then when they use logo in simple print or fax machines that makes only black and white. the logo does not look awsome anymore.

Plasticity, even if there are metal-looking sewing threads, the price for them is bigger. I'm sure they don't want that. I have simulated an embroidering model, and I came up to the conclusion that the 2D versions look better than the 3D ones. I hope Del will say something about this issue.

well all good things cost a little more. and its not allways about money, itit looks better its good to drop little more money in it. and i dont think the overal cost is so much bigger

thing is people are used to things like special effects and gradients. good logo is something that looks good even without all those stuff

Sorry I just noticed that if you type a message and then rate the design the message does not go through. I have been doing the rating and message and comment at the same time on everything I have rated. I will change the way I am doing the ratings from now on. Del

In regards to the steel look in stitching. Regardless if we use steel thread or steel looking thread the logo stitched is not going to look like a piece of steel. And I'm fine with that. It does have to look like my logo. The color of the Nike Swoosh does not change its identification with Nike. Changing the Yellow however on the McDonald's M to Blue would be a different story. I prefer the more subtle looks so I don't think we need a big Steel C on my shirt. It does have to be recognized as our logo. Thanks Del

one thing you can do is collect out those logos you see that has something you like and ask designers to make different versions. aka on white background and one version in simple black and white mode. even print out them and get a different view. sometime things makes more sense on paper. i recommend this method to my clients. you can notice many things like that
