Greetings everybody! Thank you all for your submissions. The contest has been open less than 24 hours and we have received some great ideas. It is safe to say that we are definitely growing partial to the logos that contain an icon. See: 18149, 18158, 18164, 18175, 18176, 18177, 18194, 18195, 18197. These logos all incorporate an icon. We also like 18148 despite the lack of a distinct icon (which wasn't originally specified) due to its print specific nature. I would like to comment on each and every one of your logos, however, there simply is not enough time in the day. What I can say is that we are very pleased with the submissions so far. We surely look forward to what ideas you all will come up with in the next ~Week. Thanks for your ideas!

We will be withholding our initial round of ratings until tomorrow in order to keep the flood gates open, so to speak. I have given out only one rating because that designer sent a Private Message. An idea of what we are currently fond of can be had by looking at the submissions that we've highlighted in the previous comment. Tomorrow we will also post a list outlining our criteria for each rating. Thanks for your ideas!

I am going to begin rating submissions this evening. To give you a breakdown of how the ratings will be given out: 5 - I don't plan on giving out many/any 5's. If you get one of these your logo is likely to be a final contender. It would be nice to see 5's superimposed onto collateral. 4 - These are our favorites and the strongest prospects. Logos with 4's might either need minor modifications (layout, spacing, alignment, etc) or we are just having a tough time deciding. 3 - These are interesting, but would require some more work in order to get to a 4. Consider adding a graphical icon, adjusting spacing, or implementing the design into a new idea that is more inline with the other logos rated '4'. 2 - These ideas aren't really inline with what we are looking to accomplish. Likely 2's will be given to logos consisting primarily of stylized text, logos that are too busy/confusing or logos that in general stray from our vision. 1 - While submitting any logo improves your odds, submitting a logo that is similar to one rated '1' will clearly communicate that you haven't investigated our preferences. If you feel that a rating was given unfairly or that we've made a mistake please contact us via PM. Thanks!

The fact that the contest is prepaid indicates that we've already paid the prize for this contest, guaranteeing a winner. If I am not mistaken all payments are made through PayPal.

------------------------------------------------------ ====================================================== ------------------------------------------------------ Thank you all very much for your submissions! We are extremely pleased with how this contest has progressed. The work that you've all done is not only impressive, but exhibits a great amount of vision. We thank you for your hard work. We have chosen 3 final candidates. We have asked these designers to make modifications to their logos to be considered in the final choosing. We are very pleased with all of the other responses that we have received and have had a VERY difficult time choosing our 3 final candidates. Do not be disappointed if we've not chosen your logo as a candidate. We would use a dozen different logos if that was feasible. There are some very very strong designs here that have not made the final cut. We have posted the comments and revisions to each designer's logo's page. However, for the sake of ease, I will also post the comments here. If your logo has not been chosen as a final candidate please investigate what we've chosen, why we've chosen them, and what we'd still like to see implemented. The logos are as follows: #18553-- -------- - The pixels coming off of the C in CMYK are great. Please implement Cyan, Magenta and Yellow into these pixels. Perhaps on the same plane as the CMY coming out the back of the logo? The concept in mind with this is that there is "Ink going into the C" on the left (pixels) and "paper coming out on the right" (arrows). - Try to implement more color into the CMYK TODAY lines, if possible. There is a lot of black in this logo. - Please try a few different variations of font choices. - Please situate the word "Today" to accommodate a tagline #18554-- -------- - Please try a lowercase 't', as well as implementing some of the suggestions from 18553 #18149-- -------- - We love the way the logo communicates motion, however, we have the impression of counter clockwise motion. It may be necessary to switch the sides of the legs that the drips are on in order to communicate forward motion. - Rotating the logo ~45 degrees clockwise may also communicate more forward motion, with the black leg on the right. Please submit one revision with this change. - It may be that the feeling of motion would be better communicated by changing the positions/ordering of the colors in the target. Please try implementing this if you feel that it will help. - Try a revision or two, please, with the target broken out of the logo. To the left, on top, to the right, in the background, or any other variation that you find appealing. - If it is possible to bolden the text without doing harm to the balance of the logo that would be good, as well. It seems as though you've chosen gray for the text to make the black in the target stand out. We like this, but it invariably leaves the text looking plain. ------------------------------------------------------ ====================================================== ------------------------------------------------------ Thanks again! We absolutely look forward to working together with the winner.
