well ADM32 your attitude sucks as much as your design did. maybe if you worked on your skills or your outlook you might actually get paid someday. considering you are 0 for 29 and this designer is 1 for 1.

Who are you kidding? We've seen this move 100 times. Kind of odd that a brand new designer enters one contest and one contest only, wins with a crap design after you've been communicating with another designer the entire contest. I guess we'll wait and see if this winning designer enters any more contests, but I'm assuming he won't since he hasn't already. Nice try. Thanks for wasting everyone's time. We'll be watching your website as well.

My comment was directed at your taste in design which you have none. There are far more good designs in this group than the piece of crap that you chose.

Blackhawk067 & ADM32 You assume that it was I alone that made this decision and that it was simply my taste in design at issue here, when as point of fact, this was a group choice. A group that works exclusively in the industry for which this logo was made, a group that may have indeed liked one or many of the submissions but chose to not use any designs similar to any competitors and one that could not be confused with another trade. You use words like we’ve and we’ll as if you represent a hidden internet designers union. When in fact you only come across as a designer that cannot see merit in someone else’s work. you come across as if no one could have ever thought you didn’t deserve to win the contests you entered. Far worse than that, it seems that you are only concerned with one half of this contest. You do understand that past picking a “winner” these logos actually mean something to the contest holder? right? You act as if this is some sort of internet pie eating contest and skip right past the fact that there is significant time and money to be spent after the concept is chosen. You both designed logo’s that had our name and taglines and a rendering of a piece of rebar and you submitted it, thus giving you the right to offer your opinions. Unfortunately, those opinions are without substance or reasoning. Instead of displaying passion for your profession or simply asking why that one was chosen over another……You attack my taste, you insult a fellow designer and their logo and I’m guessing here…but, you are accusing my company of some sort of web based logo contest conspiracy. Does that about sum it up? At the end of the day I appreciated everyone’s effort and work, but the concept we chose best suited our needs. I would hope that is all anyone would care about.

Steelwork, I sincerely apologize for the bad manners displayed by two of my fellow designers. Blackhawk and ADM, kindly knock it off. That kind of sour grapes bellyaching and bad manners can only sour the reputation of hatchwise and chase off potential customers that Steelwork might have recommended this site to. So you lost. It's a contest. Nobody guaranteed you would win or that the contest holder would share your ideas of aesthetics. So she asked for her logo to feature rebar/construction/blueprints and her company's marketing group chose a logo that featured none of those things. So what? If she herself or someone she knows signed up specifically for this contest, entered that one design, and then picked it as the winner... tough. That's the risk you take by playing the game. Big deal. Move on. You do realize that every one of your nasty comments gets sent out as spam to all the other designers that took part in the contest, right? Thanks a lot guys. Just what I needed in my inbox. Show some professionalism and stop attacking the customer, OK? Best regards, Matthew

3. Be on your best behaviour Remember: many contests get alot of entries and it can take alot of time for the contest holder to comment on each entry. Even if you don't like what they say about your designs or disagree with them there is no need to get rude. Feel free to report the contest to Admin if you feel it is being grossly mishandled, but we do ask that you refrain from lashing out verbally. ______________________________________________ That was copied and pasted from the Creative Guidelines that Hatchwise provides. Perhaps your time would be better spent building your design skills/aesthetic or entering more contests instead of making personal attacks. Not that I should need to defend my design decisions but my winning entry is clean, easy to reproduce, one color, can be stenciled for a job site, legible if reduced to a small size, easily readable from a distance (job site), can be produced in black and white, the type is kerned, I only used one typeface...etc... I.E. not poorly designed. It is what the client was looking for and an appropriate design for the context of the client's field - construction. It is irrelevant whether or not it suits your particular taste. My advice? Exercise some professionalism and concern yourself with honing your own skills/putting some thought behind your OWN work. No client wants to work with a whiny, rude designer.
