Are you intending to actually burn the design into wood? The design programs commonly used are Photoshop and Illustrator. In these programs, designers can give you a "flat" design, or they can make a design appear to have an embossed appearance. If you are intending to print on card stock and imprint of the design or if you are going to burn the design into wood, it would be helpful to know the dimensions that you need the finished design to be so it would look realistic when it is finished. You made a comment that you had a 4 foot by 10 foot post that you were planing on using for your storefront signage. Is that where this final design will be displayed? Do we need to be designing for that space?
