Describe your company and organization and target audience

This is an effort by the collective Filipino American Community and Chicago's Field Museum that has a 100+ year old 10,000 artifact collection of items from the Philippines. We, the community, will be co-curating each item, digitally. We will smart phone photos of each item, and post the image and whatever minimal information about each piece onto a blog. The Filipino public can then comment about what they may know about each item, specifically our parents or grandparents may remember that a certain piece's colors meant something, or that a weapon is in fact a cooking instrument, etc.

The design should have the following

Chicago's Field museum has a collection of items that it wants to share with public. We need to give the Filipino public the ability to give each item a voice. Each piece, be it a knife, basket, piece of clothing, is carefully labeled and stored in a climate controlled room. It is not doing the public, let alone our community, any good in a storage room. Each piece needs to be understood. Although paper notes are kept on each piece, the information on each one is painfully lacking, some only have a sentence like, where it came from in what year and what it is suppose to be. Each item has a story. There are 10,000 pieces. Each item has kwento, Tagalog, the Philippine language for story....there are 10,000 stories waiting to be told. The museum needs help in understanding what each item is about, possibly a context or deeper description and purpose of each item. A story that the public would know, better than any scholar. This 'new' information helps to curate each piece. There are 10,000 stories waiting to be told. These stories will enhance the scientific and anthropologist information that the museum has on each cataloged item. I can see a logo as simple as the abstract shape of the Chicago Field museum with story bubbles, like in a cartoon coming out of the top of the structure. Some how there are many bubbles, almost like trees coming of the top of the the museum. Perhaps using the colors of the Philippine flag for the colors of the bubbles. Maybe the background is a blue Lake Michigan behind it since the Museum is on the waterfront. I open to more complex ideas that communicate the story each item has to share. In the end, after the story collecting is complted, by the end of 2014, the logo should still be the same, so it communicates what this collection is about. The logo needs to be self contained so it can be easily understood with context, colorful and fun enough so it 'pops' and as timeless as possible since it will communicate that the Philippine community, although first of of Chicago, but these from all over the world contributed to this wonderful effort
