I am looking for a simple website to provide the public (maybe tennis players at first) with my background, what I'm doing , why , what I look like and provide them with updates and some pictures and video. Basically share my experience on the tour. |

I am a 49 year old Tennis coach and former accountant with a competitive background who feels that we can all accomplish more and would like to push the envelope and play full time on the Pro Tennis Circuit obtaining a world singles ranking. I have been the number ranked player in New England and top 10 in Florida and a hitting partner to former #5 world ranked player in late 80s. I also played the circuit for 8 months before running out of money and returning to life in Public Accounting and later college head coaching. Its unheard of for tennis players my age to aspire to a world ranking and full time competition. After age 30 almost all players enter senior
tournaments. I have been steadily improving and lost two 3 sets matches in the past year at two pro qualifying events in Canada. I was older than my opponents' parents! but felt very comfortable. This summer i came very close to beating two current high level Division 1 players in local tournaments while teaching full time. Just need to train and play full time! I love the training and competition and travel and look forward to challenging the body and handling the early results. I am starting at the bottom "Futures level" $10-15,000 tournaments then "Challenger level" $50-100,000 then ATP level (Wimbledon etc). You have to qualify in a separate tournament then accumulate points and move up to the bigger tournaments. I am looking for individual then later corporate sponsors to pay for training and expenses and I will be sharing the adventure on this website. I expect this be at least a 5 year project. Like a good study it takes time to allow the true results to come out! Older players have done well on the tour but only in doubles so far. |
